Little Kickers classes to keep Carlisle kids healthy
Wannabe David Beckhams proved you are never too young to learn as they demonstrated their silky football skills in Carlisle.

High fives and a whole lot of fun were the order of the day as the Little Kickers ran around cones, stepped over ladders and practiced their penalty shooting at Belah Community Centre.
Scott Cormack runs the Little Kickers classes in Cumbria for children aged 18 months to five years.
He said: “It’s great because you get loads back from the kids – smiles, high fives and bags of enthusiasm.
“We play games and they practice their ball skills. We have more boys in the classes than girls, but girls do come and enjoy it.
“All the kids are so enthusiastic. They learn to kick the ball, practice their agility and co-ordination skills, and work as a team.”
The classes, which run at Belah Community Centre and Downagate Community Centre in Warwick Bridge, are held on Tuesdays and Sundays.
They cater for three different age groups – 18 months to two years; two years to three-and-a-half years; and three-and-a-half years to five.
The Little Kickers programme was established in 2002 as a way of tackling childhood obesity by providing youngsters with the opportunity to experience the excitement of sport.
Little Kickers classes give kids a fun, positive introduction to sport as well as basic football instruction.
