Jun 25 2008 by Mark Bloom, South Wales Echo FORMER Cardiff City player Damon Searle is putting his best foot forward as he sets up ‘Little Kickers’ football training for the under-fives in the Cardiff and Bridgend area. Searle and wife Andrea have opened ‘Little Kickers’ due to demand for organised football classes aimed at the toddling community, catering for children from 18 months to five years old. Searle, who played under current Cardiff City boss Dave Jones at Stockport, said: “After spending 20 years of my football career playing professionally, I’ve got to the stage where I wanted to share my enthusiasm for the sport with young children. “I felt it was time to give something back to the younger generation. “We have identified that there were very few activities or clubs targeted towards football under the age of four or five – Little Kickers proves that football can be taught to all ages, especially pre-school children and can be made fun in the process. It isn’t just about boys either, football can be enjoyed by girls.” LITTLE Kickers classes are currently running at the YMCA, The Hub, Barry, for both Junior and Mighty Kickers.
